Sunday's Sermon, One Another Meeting

Dear CrossPointe,

This Sunday we will finish the first chapter of Mark with a look at Mark 1:35-45. As the crowds press around Jesus, we see him driven to pray and focus on his mission, culminating with a beautiful picture of our salvation as Jesus is moved with compassion to touch and heal a leper. Take a moment to read this passage before Sunday and let your heart be warmed and stirred as you meditate on Jesus’ compassion and power.

Also, this Sunday evening we will have our “One Another” member meeting from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. This meeting is particularly important as we will update you on where things stand with our building and also will answer any questions you have. I realize that in the past these meetings have run a little long, so we are sticking to the time allotted for this meeting. As always, childcare will be available, and non-members are welcome to attend as well. I really hope to see you there for this meeting.

Ladies’ Lunch (Sept. 11)
Every month, CrossPointe’s women gather for food and fellowship. Lunches (Chick-fil-A) cost $5. The ladies will gather again on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at noon. Childcare will be provided! RSVP to Jennifer Batey if you’ll be there.

Starting Pointe (September 14–16)
Anyone considering membership at CrossPointe must attend Starting Pointe, a three-part membership class. The next Starting Pointe will be September 14 (6:30–9 p.m.), 15 (9 a.m. – noon) and 16 (6–7:30 p.m.). Childcare will be provided. If you want to attend, please e-mail Robert Ward.

Baptism Sunday (September 23)
On Sunday, September 23, CrossPointe will baptize several individuals, symbolizing the Christian’s unity with Christ in death to sin and renewed life to God. To learn more about being baptized, please e-mail Wayne Shealy.
