Jesus, Friend of Sinners

Dear CrossPointe,

Last week we saw that Jesus’ grace is ferociously aggressive. This week we’ll see how scandalous it is.

In Mark 2:13-17, we find Jesus hanging out with people which no good religious Jew would have been caught dead with; yet, these sinners and tax collectors—the dredges of society—are the among the people Jesus came to save. As you might imagine, this scandalous dinner party is filled with both conviction and encouragement for us.

Take some time to read the text before Sunday and pray for God to encourage us, save unbelievers, and be glorified as we see a few folks from CrossPointe get baptized this Sunday.
