Preparing for Sunday + Weekly Announcements

Dear Crosspointe,

Hope that this week has been a good one so far. As we continue taking a short break from our Romans series, I am looking forward to leading our time together this Sunday. We will be looking at Philippians 4:1–9 and some verses in Acts 16. The sermon title will be “Be United, Joyful, and in Prayer.” We will study God’s word together to see how the gospel compels us to be a people who are united, full of joy, and prayerful towards God.

I invite you to read and meditate on these texts before Sunday. I also invite you to pray for God to equip us all as we anticipate what He has for us from His word. Don’t forget to pray for Pastor Brad and Jennifer as they visit their son in China. Love you, Church!

Women’s Ornament Exchange (Dec. 5, 6–8 p.m.) || Enjoy fellowship with other women from CrossPointe! Everyone is encouraged to bring a dish to share in addition to one $5 wrapped ornament to swap with someone else. Contact Sigourney Ward to RSVP!
 
Prayer for the Nations (Dec. 10, 6 p.m.) || Meet at CrossPointe on the second Sunday of the month to pray for missions efforts around the world!
 
Ladies’ Lunch (Dec. 12, 11:30 a.m.) || Join the ladies for lunch ($5 Chicken Salad Chick) and fellowship! Childcare starts at 9:30 a.m. E-mail Anna Dawson to sign up for food and childcare!
 
Christmas Eve Service (Dec. 24, 5 p.m.) || Celebrate Christ’s birth through song, Scripture, and prayer. Kids are welcome to wear their pajamas, and we’ll have cider and cookies as well.
 
Winter Clothing Needed || Safe House Ministries needs winter clothing, blankets, and personal hygiene items. Please bring donations to CrossPointe in a bag labeled “Safe House” and leave them behind the info desk in the foyer. Contact Keith Myers with any questions!
 
Church Plant Dinners with the Hawks || If you missed the recent informational lunch but would like to hear more about the vision for CrossPointe’s upcoming church plant, e-mail Will Hawk to get on the calendar for an informal dinner at their home.
 
Lift Ski Retreat (Dec. 30–Jan. 2) || Join the high-school youth in Winterplace, W. V., as we ski, snowboard, and hang out together. To save your spot, register and pay the deposit ($100) by Thanksgiving. The total cost (ski: $280; board: $300; hang: $150) is due by Dec. 15 and covers lodging, skiing, non-travel meals, and a sweatshirt. Contact Will Hawk with any questions.
