Doubt and Grace

Dear CrossPointe,

This Sunday we resume our journey through Mark as we look at an intense yet tender scene in Mark 9:14-29. In this passage, Jesus, Peter, James and John descend from Christ’s transfiguration on the mountain to find the other disciples arguing with the scribes over their inability to heal a boy with an unclean spirit.

What follows is a poignant and compassionate exchange between Jesus and the boy’s desperate father. In many ways, this passage is a microcosm of the grace and power of Jesus and the Christian life. Take some time to read it and prepare your heart for Sunday.
