Announcements, Sept. 16, 2016

Dear CrossPointe,

Our text this week, 1 Timothy 3:8–13, is a continuation of Paul’s qualifications for church leadership, specifically the role of deacons. A deacon is a servant of the church, tasked with caring for the logistical and physical needs of the congregation, which in turn paves the way for the ministry of the Word.

While this text addresses the specific office or role of deacon (servant) in the church, the idea of Christians serving one another is woven throughout the New Testament. Take a moment to read thorough 1 Timothy 3:8–13 a few times before Sunday and pray with me that we would strive to be a church full of servants.

See you Sunday!

Brad
