Dear CrossPointe

If you missed last Sunday’s sermon by Robert Ward on Ephesians 5:15–21, I encourage you to listen to it here. It was a very timely and helpful message on how Christians should walk wisely amidst evil days. Great message!

This Sunday we begin our series through the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5–7). This first week will be a sort of introduction into the overarching theme of these chapters, what place they have in the Christian life, and how believers should approach the Kingdom ethic sketched out by Jesus in these famously well-known but often mis-applied chapters.

So, read Matthew 5:1–12 for this Sunday, but let me also encourage you to read chapter 5–7 over and over again in the coming months. Immerse yourself in the Sermon on the Mount. Looking forward to diving into it with you!

Sunday Morning Classes (9–10 a.m., Sept. 13–Nov. 22) || There are two studies, one on the Apostles’ Creed (Ron Mullins teaching) and another on prayer, using Tim Keller’s book as a guide (Robert Ward teaching; class ends Oct. 25). Childcare is provided. Contact Nicole Carey to sign up!

Meet & Greet (Sunday, noon) || Get to know the pastors and Community Group leaders immediately after worship in Classroom A. We’ll have snacks!

“One Another” Member Meeting (Sunday, 6 p.m.) || Every other month, CrossPointe’s members (non-members welcome!) gather to discuss and pray for matters pertinent to the life of the church. Childcare is always provided.

Some Reminders About Children’s Ministry || Children move up by age until they enter grade-school, at which point they advance to the next room by grade. Last Sunday, we made changes to our room layout, most notably:

• 1st-Graders now have their own room! Please sign into KidCheck and check into the classroom before the service.
• 2nd–5th-Graders make up Kids’ Church which now meets in the new Youth area! Please sign into KidCheck before the service but don’t check into Kids’ Church until after announcements during the service.

Women’s Bible Studies

• Philippians (Mon., 9:30–11 a.m., Sept. 14–Nov. 9) || This study will meet in Classroom B and use Carrie Gaul’s Joy in the Midst (recommended by Nancy Leigh DeMoss) as a guide. Contact Melany Raborn (706-718-5102) to sign up and request childcare!
• Nehemiah (Mon., 6:30–8 p.m., Sept. 14–Dec.14) || The group will meet Sept. 14 & 21 and every other week after that. Meet at 3915 Crestview Dr. in Columbus. Contact Lauren Wood to sign up!

Ladies’ Lunch (Sept. 15, noon) || Study spiritual disciplines together over lunch ($5 Chicken Salad Chick). Childcare begins at 10 a.m.! Contact Nicole Carey to sign up.
