Dear CrossPointe,

I’m really looking forward to this Sunday! We’ll be in Joshua 2 (and a bit of chapter 6 as well) studying a pivotal moment in the history of God’s people, when they finally put into motion plans to conquer the Promised Land. “Conquer” is probably a strong term, because the Israelites barely do anything. Rather, the Lord gives them the land by defeating their enemies—his enemies—the Canaanites of Jericho. The entire city is destroyed save one person, a prostitute named Rahab. We’ll see why she was spared (and what that means for us today) on Sunday, but go ahead and read Joshua 2:1–24 & 6:15–25 so you have your bearings!

Elder Candidate Q&A (July 26, 7:30 p.m.) || Stick around after MWF to hear from Jay Hearn, who was put forward for eldership at our most recent member meeting. He’ll be answering questions and sharing a little about himself before we vote to affirm him at a future member meeting.

Starting Pointe Membership Class (July 29–30) || Learn more about CrossPointe and what it means to be a member! This two-part class meets on Sat., July 29 (9 a.m.–noon), and Sun., July 30 (5–7:30 p.m.). Childcare is provided. Sign up by e-mailing Robert Ward.

Children’s Ministry Training (July 30, 9 a.m.) || We’re eager to add more men and women who will lovingly serve our children and families. Volunteers serve one Sunday every five weeks. E-mail Cristin Wise to sign up.
