Dear CrossPointe,

Where is God when life hurts? How does his sovereignty intersect with our suffering? These questions have been around since Genesis 3, and our text this Sunday, Romans 5:3–5, helps us answer them. My hope is that our time together in this passage will help us build a better theology of suffering so that we can actually rejoice in it when it inevitably comes.

Ladies’ Lunch (July 18, 11:30 a.m.) || Join the women of CrossPointe for lunch ($5 Chicken Salad Chick) and fellowship as we hear from one of our own! Childcare starts at 9:30 a.m. E-mail Stephen Knowles to RSVP for food and childcare.

Community Prayer for Foster Care (July 21, 6:30–7:30 p.m.) || Join Clement Care (part of Clement Arts) for an hour of prayer as we lift up the needs of foster-children, birth- and foster-families, DFCS workers, attorneys, judges, advocates, and volunteers. Elder Candidate Q&A (July 26, 7:30 p.m.) || Stick around after MWF to hear from Jay Hearn, who was put forward for eldership at our most recent member meeting. He’ll be answering questions and sharing a little about himself before we vote to affirm him at a future member meeting.

Starting Pointe Membership Class (July 29–30) || Learn more about CrossPointe and what it means to be a member! This two-part class meets on Sat., July 29 (9 a.m.–noon), and Sun., July 30 (5–7:30 p.m.). Childcare is provided. Sign up by e-mailing Robert Ward.

Children’s Ministry Training (July 30, 9 a.m.) || We’re eager to add more men and women who will lovingly serve our children and families. Volunteers serve one Sunday every five weeks. E-mail Cristin Wise to sign up.

KidKeepers Needed || KidKeepers are paid volunteers who care for CrossPointe’s children during church events outside of Sunday morning worship. E-mail Cristin Wise if you’re interested!
