Announcements, July 11

Dear CrossPointe,

As always, that was a superb message by Will Hawk last week on Genesis 18. Full of convicting and encouraging truth. If you missed it, be sure to listen to it here.

This week we continue with a look at Genesis 19 and the heart-wrenching account of Lot’s rescue and Sodom and Gomorrah’s destruction. Probably one of the most distorted and misunderstood aspects of the Bible is how God’s righteous wrath and judgment mix together with his mercy. We’ll take a stab at unpacking that this Sunday, along with a look at our culture and our role in it.

Until then, I’d encourage you to read Genesis 19 along with Luke 17:20–37 and 2 Peter 2–3. Pray also that the Lord would help us see the beauty of his holiness, the horror of being judged outside of Christ, and the urgency of our mission as Christians.

Grace and peace,

Brad
