Dear CrossPointe,

Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:17 that if Christ has not been raised our faith is futile and we are still in our sins. In other words, Paul is pinning every Christian’s hopes on the resurrection of Christ. Because Jesus rose, we will rise. Because Jesus got up from the grave and has defeated death and sin, we can be confident that he will return as he promised to finally and fully consummate his reign on earth.

Take some time to read the text, 1 Thessalonians 4:9–18, a few times before Sunday. Looking forward to seeing you all!

Meet & Greet (Sunday)
Get to know the pastors and Community Group leaders immediately after worship. We’ll meet in the foyer/café area.

Regular Youth Resumes (Sunday, 6:30 p.m.)
Participate in our “Back to School, Back to Cool” Challenge! This is open to all middle- and high-school students.

Women’s Study: Jonah (Sept. 3–Oct. 1, 9:15–11 a.m.)
Study the book of Jonah with other CrossPointe ladies in Classroom B every Thursday morning! Amy Ward will lead the group. Contact her to reserve a spot and let her know if you’ll need childcare.

Starting Pointe Membership Class (Aug. 14–16)
This class has three sessions: Gospel (Fri., 6:30–9 p.m.), Community (Sat., 9 a.m.–noon), and Mission (Sun., 6–7:30 p.m.). Childcare is provided. Contact Robert Ward to sign up!

Back-to-School River Party (Aug. 15, 12–6 p.m.)
All middle- and high-school students are invited to join us for food, skiing, games, and tubing. Bring a friend! We’ll be at 870 Moss Dr. in Hamilton, Ga. (detailed directions available on the youth Facebook page).

Children’s Ministry Training (Aug. 16, 9 a.m.)
